Library Branches Closing
Due to the worsening situation and following Scottish Government advice, Midlothian Council has decided that all three of our libraries currently open (Dalkeith, Newtongrange, and Penicuik) will be closed to the public at 5pm on Tuesday the 22nd of December
That is, ALL current library branches, previously open, have now closed as of Tuesday the 22nd of December at 5pm. This includes book drop offs and 'reserve and collect' enquiries. We hope that we will be re-opening branches for limited services on Tuesday January the 5th 2021.
Many apologies for the short notice and we hope to see you all again in the new year. Any books that were due to be collected can and will be set aside for you if you wish. All fines will be waived during this period. Any questions please get in touch, either email library.hq@midlothian.gov.uk, or phone the contact centre 0131 270 7500
No Late Fines
Don't worry about late fines - there will be no additional fines from 18 March until further notice.
Please ignore any overdue emails you receive, we are working to stop these.

We continue to offer a range of free online services during this period including:
